Introduction

Welcome to the 5-day intensive course on International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) designed specifically for professionals working in non-governmental organizations (NGOs).
This course aims to equip participants with comprehensive knowledge and practical skills in understanding, interpreting, and applying IFRS principles within the unique context of NGOs.

Day 1:

• Requirements for presentation of statement of financial position, statement of comprehensive income, statement of changes in equity, and statement of cash flows under IFRS
• Disclosure requirements for NGOs under IFRS
• Practical exercises on preparing and presenting financial statements in compliance with IFRS.

Day 3:
Asset Recognition and Measurement under IFRS
• Principles of asset recognition and measurement under IFRS
• Specific considerations for NGOs in recognizing and measuring assets
• Treatment of tangible assets, intangible assets, and financial assets under IFRS
• Impairment testing and derecognition of assets under IFRS.
• Case studies and examples illustrating asset recognition and measurement issues in NGOs.

Liabilities and Equity under IFRS
• Principles of liability recognition and measurement under IFRS
• Specific considerations for NGOs in recognizing and measuring liabilities.
